I never thought I’d ever find myself saying this, but even TACO BELL has better tasting “Mexican food” than this place. First of all, the outside and the sign of the restaurant look promising, it gives off that real authentic Mexican food vibe. When you walk in though, absolutely opposite. I immediately felt weird being in there, the service was off putting. It was very dark in a weird way inside. The chips and salsa that were brought out were awful. Salsa was very cold, too chunky, and the tomatoes tastes old, and the salsa tasted line water. The ONLY thing that I thought remotely tasted like Mexican food was the bottle of HOT Salsa they gave us with the bowl of chips. Only thing that was flavorful and spicy. I ordered the 2 enchilada beef & taco plate with beans and rice. The waitress asked if I wanted the taco soft or crispy and I said crispy. Well the taco shell was hard as a Rock! I had a hard time biting into it. The taco had way too much lettuce and cold shredded cheese on top. The meat tasted 2 weeks old and burnt, with no favor. Honestly don’t even know if it was meat from a cow. The enchiladas were way too cheesy and a rubbery texture. The meat on my enchiladas didn’t even taste like red chili meat and were tough to chew. The beans and rice were a joke. No flavor and overloaded on the plate. Real Mexican rice should have a hint of red color to it but this did not. It was also soggy. Service was bad too, never got waited on and left disappointed and didn’t finish our food so bad. Not real Mexican food - coming from a true Mexican.

We really enjoyed our dinner here....cheese Enchilada, relleno, beef taco, all delicious. The menu is basic but the plates were plentiful. The rice is fluffy and not dry and the beans were just the right consistency of creaminess. We also got the cheese crisp as an appetizer and it's probably my favorite cheese chips ever...the home made tortillas are really good. Great service and they seemed very appreciative of our business. Only bummer is the bar/lounge is not open. Hopefully it reopens soon, if even just for the weekends I think they are missing out on a lot of business not having it open.

I’ve been eating here since I was 5years old and the food has never changed. It’s the best in the valley and I’m so thankful that this restaurant is still in business. I’m so blessed that I was able to experience this amazing restaurant with my sons and grandchildren and they got to experience hearing from the owner Eva she’s known me and my parents since I was a little kid. The look on my grandkids faces was priceless. Please go and take your family and friends to El Charro.

Server was a nice young woman, and the restaurant was OK atmosphere. However, the food was awful! I don't think I've ever had such a bad meal claiming to be Mexican food. Watery refried beans, tasteless enchiladas, bland tacos, served on cold plates so the food was soon cold. The place was empty and now I know why. Sad.

I remember coming here as a kid and used to love it. My family and I came here every Sunday and it’s just not the same anymore. Ordered a couple chicken tacos as they go so well with a nice beer after a long day. The tacos tasted ok but I felt like I was trying to chew through rubber when it came to the tortilla shells. Took two bites and the rest was just a waste of money. Honestly wish I didn’t even bother. Hopefully it changes back as this is a childhood memory and going there is just memories as I’m sure it is for a lot of people. Please use fresh tortillas… like I said I should not have to feel like I’m chewing on freaking tires when I’m trying to enjoy my food. If I could leave less stars I would.
